Are all profiles private by default now? I can't seem to find how to set mine public.
@coraxcelticus here? it might be initially, but you can change in settings.
if its requiring you to approve followers, thats in teh followers tab.
@Beanc I'm not PRO (at least not yet) so I can't change it from Public anyway there. Yet when I click on the toot link (the 25m or whatever) in my own or most people's toots, it goes to an "Oops! Private Profile!" page.

Okay, so all sorts of people have different privacy settings - its' pretty customizable.
One of those settings is PLP - e.g. can your posts be seen outside of coso.
those settings *also* apply when posting a link to a post within coso.
so if someone doesn't have plp enabled (Pro required), then you will get that error.
It depends on the settings of whoevers post it is.
