Hey cosonauts. Been a minute. Clarion West is a terrific institution supporting speculative fiction and fantasy writers. The Write-a-thon supports underrepresented and less advantaged writers. I'm pledging to write a >=10k word solarpunk story for the r/solarpunk reddit.

First post drops soon. Come point and laugh as I try to write an entire novellette in six weeks, just on evenings and weekends. In summer. Maybe drop a button in the plate. tinyurl.com/2p8ed8ms

It seems like now is a good time to read a socialist-utopian-feminist revenge-action-adventure story. Although, when is it NOT a good time for a socialist-utopian-feminist revenge-action-adventure story?

I wrote a short essay for the non-sporty or non-soccer-y people on why we should make some time for the this year. And briefly explain why Americans will not be able to ignore it this year, even if they want to.

The red wave was just a little mid cycle spotting.

I missed this one last night. Katie Porter is hanging on in CA47 by about a thousand votes with only 55% of the count in.

@connorwa When I first moved here, I didn't like mail-in...I missed the old ladies at the polling place, the stickers, and the sense of civil participation. But I'd never had to spend 12 hours waiting in line in a GOQ-controlled state either. I've totally come around to mail-in by now. I can vote more comfortably, do my research with the ballot in hand, and not get my license plate photographed by fascist nut jobs.

Turnout in was 48.95%. That's whopping for a midterm and better than a lot of states do in presidential years. Well done oregonians! Suck it all you states who resist vote-by-mail.

Hookay CoSo, thanks for putting up with me. After a shot of solidarity with @SteppinRazor I am going to turn in. I will awake to a that is about to go through a change in its government system for the better. Pretty good night for the local side of things.

Have they called the Lauren Boebert race in CO?

Ron Johnson starting to look like he is going to cling on by his fingernails to his title of Creepiest Old Fuck in the US Senate.

Hearing some obviously anecdotal talk on MSNBC that most of the craziest of crazy people running in Secretary of State (run elections) in the US have lost. Which is nice.

A runoff in Georgia? Are you fucking kidding me?

Kevin McCarthy is a man who understands the concept of soaring oratory but lacks the basic humanity to actually connect words with people. Every word he utters just drips with “I am the plutocrats’ useful idiot.”

Kansas fucked around and found out in the aughts. They look like they are going to elect a Democratic governor for the first time since ‘09.

Clearly, the biggest question hanging over the nation after this election is, will John Fetterman wear his hoodie onto the floor of the Senate?

And more good news, in every state where there was an abortion ballot measure, the pro-choice option won. 5-0.
