For this past month's book club book, I selected "Mockingbird" by Walter Tevis.
Now that we (the club) have all read it, I can say that none of us could figure out why this book is not more well-known.
Even more astonishing is that it was written in 1980.
Recommended.
@tgraph52 Yep, but for some reason I had never heard of "Mockingbird" despite reading tons of science fiction since I was a kid.
That one slipped by me too and I read tons also.
@tgraph52 After I finished it, I read up a bit on his life. Yet another troubled yet amazingly talented individual.
I've seen the movie "The Man Who Fell to Earth" with Bowie, but after reading "Mockingbird" I've placed TMWFTE in my upcoming purchases list. Looking forward to it.
@codeWhisperer
I know the name Walter Tevis from The Hustler movies and Queen's Gambit.
The Hustler dates back to 1959.
Other people might know him more for he Man Who Fell to Earth from the 60s.
