Any archaeology buffs here on CoSo who could give me some help with identifying this NC Indian artifact?
I found this decades ago at a construction site east of Asheville, NC. It was on an excavated hillside just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, 3'-6' below the surface.
Arrowhead? Spearpoint?

Looks like a knife blade, but I'm no expert; you could probably get this classified at a museum.

@KyleL It also has a very smooth, waxy looking finish, which I've been told is because it was purposely heat treated - over 450 degrees, for an extended period of time...
