Had a bit of excitement in the ‘hood. I took Ernie outside and there was a lot of smoke coming out of the house next door. No one lives there right now but someone has been doing a lot of work on it. I guess they installed a new furnace today and that might be what caused the fire. Cats are freaked out from being put in crates in case I needed to get them out of our house and all the flashing lights outside from the trucks. Ernie and I were outside watching until they got it taken care of.

@Zevon Thank you, me too! My biggest fear is having a fire and not being able to rustle the cats into crates fast enough. The chances of it spreading were slim since it wasn’t a big fire and I saw it early enough for them to deal with it quickly. I do feel bad for whomever put all that money into it, hope they have enough insurance on the place.
