Fun night last night, the wind took down a tree near the front of my house, and hitch on turn took out cables so we had no electricity all night, still without cable/internet. Thank goodness the storm had cooled things off or we’d have been miserable instead of merely inconvenienced. I’m still limited to what I can get through my usually crippled internet on my phone. Comcast of course is “working on the issue”.

@cjcrew
Went through exactly the same thing a week ago. In addition to the power outage it blew out my pc modem and had to have it replaced. About 2,000+ people were out of power/service for hours while they were "working on the issue".
Unfortunately I think this is the proverbial "shades of things to come"...
(Sigh...) 🙄

@cjtownsend This is the 3rd or 4th time since I moved back here 3 1/2 years ago. There’s usually one a summer I guess. This time though the destruction happened right in front of my house so I had all kinds of site seers hanging out in my corner earlier in the night.

@cjcrew
Same thing here too... "Tourists" have to drive by to see what's happened, even if the road is blocked off by police barricades. Power went off at just after 8 PM, wasn't restored until about 2:30 AM. I never realized how 'pitch black' it is at night without ANY lights, inside or out!
I'd like a pass on this happening again... ☹️

@cjtownsend No police barricades that I was aware of but they probably had one by the highway where you enter into the neighborhood. Most were neighbors being nosy, it’s a small town, nothing better to do on a Friday night unless you’re out bar hopping.
