What if, rather than having to retcon everything and create multiverses so you can shoehorn your interpretation into an existing narrative, you just let that piece of fiction exist on it's own & create your own damn characters? Not everything has to be tied to our reality, it's called fiction after all. 👀 #StarTrek

How did Captain Pike go from having to have the ship's doctor bring him a martini to having a full-on open kitchen restaurant in his quarters?
I'm watching the new show in the back of my head, I'm trying to process what is happening against what I know (or the knowledge I created in my own head). Yes, I know that everyone has their own version of whatever franchise in their head but maybe, outside of fanfic, that's where it should stay.
