Reality check:

As 'me' I come up against many technical challenges on the daily.

I could ask for help as 'me'. And get nothing of substance.

Or I could dare to ask for help as 'J'. And be ridiculed because 'J' dared to ask for help.

Over the years this has done me a favor. Forced me to become an expert on becoming an expert.
