The traditional theologies which argue that the ultimate purpose of religion, and indeed everything that happens in the universe, is to "glorify God" seem to me not to address two objections:

1) As a being of, supposedly, unsurpassable perfection, how could anything done in the universe serve to "glorify" God in the first place? You cannot add anything to infinity.
