hey Texas....

so like.. wtf have you got against beans in chili anyways?

and like.. TF do you put in it instead of beans?

Also.. why the hell haven't you tar and feathered Raphael Cruz yet for letting your people freeze to death while he ran off to Cancun?

@carver_hudson We always put beans and meat in chili. I don't think I've ever had chili without beans. I left 7 years ago. Did they change the recipe?

@weirdfizz it is my yankee understanding that beans in chili is a bad thing in Texas. I don't get it and they can do their shit however they like. But there will always be at least two to three kinds of beans in my chili (baked beans for the sweetness at the very least). They can not eat it if they wish.

@carver_hudson That might explain for me why my Yankee sister-in-law uses baked beans in chili, which makes it weird to me.

The "no beans in TRUE Texas chili" thing seems to be a lot like Yankees who take pride in telling us they know what "bless yer heart" REALLY means. They aren't exactly wrong...but it's not that simple.

Chili con carne doesn't have beans. That's a TexMex thing, not just "Texas chili". Many types of chili have different types of beans. Family recipes for chili are sacred.
