Texas’ education board voted today to allow Bible-infused teachings in elementary schools, joining other Republican-led states that pushed this year to give religion a larger presence in public classrooms.

@Maude I always thought I’d have been better off being home schooled, where my drive for learning wouldn’t be stifled or throttled by the slower pace of the whole class. As it was, I ended up going to community college during junior high just to engage in more interesting subject matter and accrue credits.

@carmen The teacher told me a month ago during a parent/teacher conference that he was a real challenge. He would finish his work before the other students,, and she would have to find something for him to do.

He's smart and gets bored very easily if he's not challenged. Teacher thought he must be autistic because he was smart and got bored when not challenged.

Give me a break.

I'm keeping him challenged every day.
He's happy.
He's excited about new challenges.
