I just got a notification for my dear brother-from-another-mother’s birthday. We lost him last year the day after his birthday just after he’d returned home after an extended hospitalization.
He looked out for my well-being when he barely knew me. That’s just the kind of person he was. Argumentative and a know-it-all, yes, but he never made you doubt he loved you.
Today is a day of reflection and gratitude for the lives that have touched mine, for sure.
