Worried for a family friend who has been suspended from his teaching job pending an investigation, following a complaint from a parent. Nobody involved is permitted to talk about it, so I don’t what the complaint was — but given that he’s openly gay, and the recent right-wing “acknowledging that gay people exist is grooming” rhetoric, I’m worried that that’s what’s really going on.

Update: It was exactly what I thought it was. A parent whose child isn’t in our friend’s class made a vague complaint that he “touches the kids too much”, worded in such a way that the school district was required to investigate.

The investigation found that the complaint was without merit (no surprise to anyone who knows or works with him), but I’m guessing this was just part of a semi-coordinated attack on gay teachers.
