I could use some #macOS help. Anyone know how to resolve issue with recovery server being unreachable? I am unable to run the latest High Sierra upgrade.
@Sam_Goodman what if I don’t see a recovery partition?
@Sam_Goodman it just shows one partition. I’m verifying disk right now.
@Sam_Goodman seems I have issues. Corrupt and invalid file counts.
@bfgreen crao even after running disk utility? Get a portable hard drive and copy everything over to it. reformat the drive after restarting the computer from the external Hard drive in the control panel startup disk then copy the information back. they might be able to do that at the apple store if you dont have a external hard drive
@bfgreen whats happening is more than one app is trying to write info to the ame space on the hard drive. when that happens either the app crashes or the computer crashes if it is the os doing it.if its just some app you seldom use it may not be a problem
@Sam_Goodman to be fair nothing is crashing and my MacBook has been running fine. I was just trying to update to High Sierra and get the error that the recovery servers cannot be contacted.
@bfgreen if you dont see a recovery partition in disk utility it must be gone corrupt orwhat I dont know. in disk utility try clicking on partition. Do NOT erase the HD!! does it show a partition or part of the hard drive besides the main part?
