@bfgreen cool! I got lots of family in Charlotte! Do you sell any of your stuff in local stores there?
@GroovySooz just to friends and family. I never started it for profit, just wanted to keep bees. Honey and wax products are mostly for fun and to cover some costs. It’s also a great teaching platform for my kids. We can all learn a lot from how bees interact.

@xipher @GroovySooz no, it’s getting progressively worse. I lost two hives last year to pests and diseases.

Is this chiefly a pollution driven thing?
Or a we have too many sidewalks, roads, buildings?
We sort of need the bees...
@xipher @GroovySooz it’s largely the chemicals we use on yards and lawns to kill pests. These also kills bees or poison the pollen they need to collect. Also mites and disease brought to US that’s can’t be eradicated. We need bees and more bee keepers.
@bfgreen we just started treating ours with oxycyllic acid smoke for mites...cinnamon for ants...
