I agree, Brian Cox played the character best, not that Hopkins did badly at all. Did you ever watch the TV adaptation series?
@bfgreen Michael Mann's use of colour (which he is very well known for) in the movie, whilst it looks quite 1980s, just makes it pop.
Just a fantastic cast all around. Especially William Peterson as Will Graham
I loved the first 2 seasons of Hannibal, not so keen on the last one. And to be fair, Mads Mikkelsen take on Lector was also excellent.

Wee sidenote, I've always thought that the Brian Cox version of Hannibal Lecter is way more sinister than Anthony Hopkins's fantastic interpretation.
Despite his lack of screen time.
And don't get me started on just how wonderful the movie looks as well. I could go on a bit 😂
