At the rate things are going, I'd guess that in about 10 years we could have robots of the classical science fiction type: machines shaped like humans (or, if it goes over better, cats or dogs or strange anime-based critters) who can navigate your space, walk, talk, simulate a conversation with you, and follow simple commands.
My question is, what then? What will we do with them? What will keep them from just being another rich person's toy? What use will they be?
