I am part of a niche community where people create languages either from scratch [a.k.a. 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶] (see: Dothraki) or through theoretical evolution [a.k.a. 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶] (e.g. what if Norman French had no influence on English). I will be presenting a piece during our biennial Language Creation Conference in April on how to naturalistically evolve a writing system. The conference is a two-day virtual event.
