Good morning from Honolulu! Today I will be interviewed for a Linux admin position by the senior Linux admin. Thing is, they found me; I wasn't actively searching for a new position. The initial interview was good, but they are afraid that I might not be a fit nor know enough for what they are looking for but admire that I am passionate about learning. The plus side? I will learn what I need to focus on for my career progression even if they decide not to give me an offer.

UPDATE: Turns out it was a SME; a Solaris / SunOS expert with basic understanding of —which is my area of (limited) expertise. It was cordial and he asked pertinent scenario questions as well as some good ice breakers. He said he didn't know what my biggest challenge would be, indicating my learning curve might not be as steep as they or I imagine. My gut tells me we are most likely a good fit and there is room to grow. If it doesn't go any further, no harm done as nothing changes.
