Each morning, its good to have a ritual that brings you into the present moment and reminds you of tihings that are really important.
Here is one I'll share with you.
Braiding Sweetgrass.
The braid is symbolic. it has 21 strands.
The first 7 strands represent the seven generations behind us: our parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and so on.
We are who we are because of them.

The next 7 strands represent the seven sacred teachings: love, respect, honesty, courage, wisdom, truth, and humility. Elders teach us:
1. Love is unconditional affection that starts with loving yourself.
2. Respect is consideration and politeness toward others.
3. Honesty is integrity and truthfulness.
4. Courage is bravery in facing difficulties.
5. Wisdom is having experience, knowledge, and good judgment.

6. Truth is sincerity and genuineness.
7. Humility is being humble, understanding we are not better than anyone else.
The last 7 strands represent the seven generations ahead of us: our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and those yet to be born.
Everything we do to the planet will affect them. We've lost our way, but Earth provides what we need to heal.
We must return to our roots to truly thrive.
