I've got an idea for a new kind of cryptocurrency, Scibucks:
Anybody can earn a scibuck; all you have to do is solve an outstanding problem in science, engineering, or mathematics, or create a novel invention exemplifying a new process, contributing to the extension of human knowledge as adjudicated by your peers.
It takes no more effort than wasting computer power to solve meaningless computations, makes the world better, and doesn't destroy the environment.
