@th3j35t3r My children are bi-racial. Being sort of new to the area, as I signed up my oldest for kindergarten on the application the choices for ethnicity were limited. I explained that my children were not "white" they are more than that. I was instructed to put "white" and just let it go. So I go to my first PTA meeting and stood up to speak.. immediately I heard whispers.. "she's not from around here, is she?" JFC I'm still dealing with it today. My kids are in their 40s.

@MrsE0113 @th3j35t3r I write "human" in forms that have a "race" field and only once has a clerk showed a sense of humor but yeah, told me to let it go. Eff that.
@b4cks4w @th3j35t3r My husband shared with me.. a coworker asked him what he was.. his respone: Human.
I giggle at that to this day.
