My understanding is that he ad-libbed that and other lines in that movie.
@Render Really?! That remark surprises me because he is easy going and gets along with pretty much everyone. maybe having a moment.. lol
I met him through Skylar, originally, but have stayed in touch, through the years. He has a band.. although he's better known for his acting. he is quite funny.. multi-talented. lives down in Four Corners area where Skylar was from.. is actually Canadian, though!
@Museek Wiki reminds me that Gary reprised the line in another Jim Jarmusch movie. Which leads me to believe that it wasn't an ad-lib after all.
