The individual public libraries can retain their affiliation, so I hope this won't have a huge impact. But still, too many politicians inserting themselves between people and books instead of, you know, helping people.

@TomeReader won't affect ALA* at all and they'll continue to support Alabamians' best interests. Could be a bit of a drag if APLS supported state librarian's individual ALA membership costs (doubt it), but I'll wager 50 cents ALA would extend them grace.
