Even though Diversity, Equity and Inclusion jobs increased by 55% following the murder of in May 2020, a recent study has showed that the vast majority of them have dried up.

In 2020, a lot of companies made big commitments, big statements around the DEI roles and goals but they never truly intended to follow through with them.

A survey revealed that Black employees account for only 3.8% of chief diversity officers in all, while white people make up 76.1% of the positions.

Chiming in that I'd expect PoC to be represented in 20-40% of those CDO jobs to mirror larger populations. But not a lot more, because that would suggest they have to carry the effort for Caucasians. Who all told are no longer a majority in a lot of places just to further complicate the discussion.

I think the survey source is here: zippia.com/chief-diversity-off

I hadn’t thought about the idea that if a huge majority of CDO’s were black, it would mean they’re doing all the heavy lifting while whites remain passive or outright hostile.
What’s your opinion, @thewebrecluse ?
Another consideration is that racist whites, if they’re at all willing to change, are more likely to listen to whites on the subject than blacks.
