Ever since the events on this day 22 years ago I get special treatment at airports because I look a certain way -- yeah TSA _absolutely_ profiles which is dumb for a lot of reasons but here's the thing; even going through Logan a year later the officers had a great sense of humor about it, we were all laughing and having a great time while they patted and prodded and relieved me of anything remotely sharp.
So why do they do it? My guess is Security is an onion and I get to be a layer.
