@thewebrecluse
I subscribed a long time, but the magazine got pretty dilute a long time ago; dropped it.
Anyway it's ironic that particular cover is being memorialized. While her face is iconic, as a young girl she did not want the picture taken and didn't appreciate being re-contacted by Nat Geo when they finally tracked her down many years later.
@thewebrecluse Oh I get it. I think that's ironic.
That cover is emblematic of the problematic history Nat Geo had with some of their subjects.
@b4cks4w yes ok good riddance to NatGeo and their problematic existence then ... 🙄
@thewebrecluse sigh. Sorry if that's how I sound. I like the publication, warts and all. Much to their credit they wrote about that whole situation.
@b4cks4w then there was no actual need to bring it up at all. those who know already know and those who don't know it isn't really going to change much for them and considering the magazine is pretty much closing up shop, it really doesn't need to be said and dredged up again.
@b4cks4w I am not sure why I have to say this ... but the cover is probably the most memorable and recognizable covers for the purposes of running a story about NatGeo for the general public ...
