Is that a fuel oil tank under the house?! Where are we someplace cold? Is that a thing up north?
Used to seeing them outside and preferably underground

@b4cks4w yes, in the northeast it's very common to have your oil tanks in the basement. in NH it's not legal to have buried tanks because they might leak.
my trailer in NY had an oil tank outside & i had to pay extra for kerosene because fuel oil gets too thick when it's cold

i'm surprised the realtor even took a photo of the basement, actually... and i've seen worse (one house i looked at was completely caving in & i pointed it out to my realtor. he told the sellers & it went off market)
