Pro tips for how to decide who is make-worthy - whatever you make:

Do they ask for what you make for free? NO
Do they mention seeing something like what you make at Target/Walmart, etc? NO
Do they ask for the “friends and family” discount or “if I provide the materials..”? HELL NO

If they respect your time and talent, it’s something you’ll enjoy making and they don’t expect it from you free? Maybe.

A maker’s time is limited - spend it wisely.

@Autumn thanks. Also applicable to home repair, construction and IT projects. I only get so many hours on this orb.

@b4cks4w Yep! As a tech biz I know how easy it is for family to “while you’re here” me. It’s even worse at the holidays. I’ve learned to reply that “I’d love to help but I’ve really been looking forward to X and spending time with Y. How about I add you to my schedule Z when I have some time in my work schedule so it won’t interfere with our gathering.” And when they come back with “It should be quick” I just reply that I want to be thorough and to be sure I have my tools with me.
