Electric kettle acting up, not starting, cutting off early? Don't toss it.

Try this:
Pour out the water,
Flip that rascal over,
Grab a cotton swab,
Dip swab in oxalic acid or vinegar, (I use BarKeeps Friend)
Swab around the circular metal contacts -- just the biggest ring is fine.
Swab around again with a clean dry swab

Just remember this helpful mnemonic: PFGDSS
