returned home from several weeks away to a dead furnace. Again. Same problem: it's old. Parts are dying.

After a cold night took apart the buzzing, hot, non-rotating motor. Got the part number off the armature and ordered a new one. Re-assembled.

Works again. If it acts up again I'll have the new part to wave threateningly.

I have a pretty new burner (oil) with new motor and new controller and every once in awhile it just fails to start.

Not nearly often enough there's a chance for troubleshooting.
