Good morning, CoSo community. I have finally gotten around to try my hand at composting. Any helpful tips from experienced composters are welcome!
@MonaT Composting just kitchen scraps, or going bigger with leaves and other yard stuff? I do a bit of both. Have a big spinning barrel for leaves but I do add some kitchen scraps to keep the worms from getting bored. Got a multi-tiered worm composter in Dec 2021. I move it to shade in summer (am in AZ) and partial sunny spot protected from wind in winter.
I freeze kitchen scraps and/or run them thru food processor to grind a bit & make it easier for the worms. So far, so good.
@attilatheblond We will be attempting to compost both kitchen scraps and yard stuff. Trying to make the best use of those waste items!
