I support ID for voting BUT any measure requiring them that isn't coupled with creating an infrastructure to facilitate legally acquiring the required IDs is not about integrity it's about suppression.
You never see "We want voter IDs so we're going to increase the places where you can get IDs and streamline and clarify the process to make it easier legally obtain one."
Instead it's "We want voter ID and we're closing ID sites, reducing staffing, adding red tape, etc."
@KazzyH @artildawn oh no, don't get me wrong, I'm a firm believer that if they're going to require ID, they need to provide a free and easy pathway to that ID, not turn it into a de facto poll tax, which I'm vehemently against.
@C_H_Antony Free, easy (require the govt agencies to send workers to remote locations to help people get them), and required in as few other contexts as possible, please. @KazzyH @artildawn
@artildawn exactly, well put.
