@artemis "Having all the information you need at your fingertips will make us a utopia."
As someone who has been on the internet since the early 90s, I fell for this. And, for a while, it was true. But human nature and bad actors weren't banished, and they soon took over.
@LiberalLibrarian
Great point. I agree 100%, bad actors playing on the vulnerabilities of human nature.
@artemis @LiberalLibrarian its why Scottish schools changed tactics
Scotland's curriculum focuses on capabilities not facts
@ecksmc
very interesting, thank you for sharing.
I'd be curious to learn more about how they teach/develop learners' critical thinking.
@ecksmc
This is awesome.
Tx again (( 💛 ))
I'll dive deeper into these materials. I think it's important to understand how they do assessment- avoid over-assessment vs. asses 'right' things at the right time, to ensure progress.
In some places...over-assessment is an issue along with non-sensical mambo-jambo (un)/illtargeted team-based chronophagic pseudo 'active learning' missing the real benchmarks.
@ecksmc
was there additional teacher training to support optimal implementation?
@artemis that i couldn't answer - I'd like to think there was, I'd assume there was also, and it will be ongoing for teachers to keep up-to-date on things - especially surrounding tech like AI and misinformation etc.....
@artemis 👍
there was some backlash when this was started because of an over assessment thingy that some thought was to much
After a few tweaks here and there it is looking better and fit for purpose
