@ChippySuave I have been slightly hounding spouse about this but he doesn’t think he’ll qualify. I told him do it anyway because you never know.
@ChippySuave that’s what I told him - what’s the worst that can happen? If he doesn’t qualify then nothing changes. I think he’s been reading some incorrect information & thinks forgiveness only applies to public service workers.
He’s always been stressed about his student loan debt.
@annamuneca Oooh! Yes, he is confusing it with the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program which closes Oct. 31. That was a flawed program and should have helped more people than they approved.
Please convince him to apply anyway for the new loan forgiveness when it comes back on live. It seriously took only a minute to fill out.
@ChippySuave that’s what he’s probably thinking of. I’ll for sure get him to fill out the right one.
@annamuneca The beta site is open once again.
@ChippySuave hopefully it’s up later tonight or tomorrow. Poked around trying to find his info but I can’t figure out his filing system.
@annamuneca There are a few statements about income that he must agree are accurate. Example: "I am single and did not make more than $125,000" If they are, he should be able to qualify.
The application window is closed for now but should reopen again as they continue to test the process.
It hurts nothing to spend the couple of minutes to fill out when it becomes available. He might get surprised. 😃
