Washing dishes in hot sudsy water always connects me with my grandmother.

I need that comfort today as women’s rights are on the line.

Born in 1900, she immigrated to Canada then the US to work in Detroit airplane factories. Having left her pedo husband, she was forced to put her kids in foster homes to stay alive. They never forgave her.

She taught herself the piano & played by ear in honky tonk bars. She performed her own abortion with knitting needle. She survived to 100.

We prevail.
