Interesting numbers:
According to Statista, corporate profits in the U.S. have grown significantly since 2000, when they totaled $786 billion, to around $3.5 trillion in 2022. In the final quarter of 2023, corporate profits after taxes stood at $2.8 trillion, which is a $105 billion increase from the previous quarter. This means that corporate profits accounted for about 10% of the total quarterly GDP.
They're actually adding to our nation's debt while swimming in profits.
Sort of a reverse Robin Hood.
