I just realized I’ve been quarantined for the last 5 months and I’m still alive! I’m healed up and working on increasing my stamina, haven’t seen my grown son except for once before the surgery, but we text and talk on the phone. Strange days indeed.

Haven’t shared here a lot but I want to tonight. So in February when I started to hear about COVID my husband and I decided to quarantine because he has heart disease although he hasn’t had problems since the stents.

I thought I was in great shape. Forward to March and my heart went crazy. AFib, mitral valve failure and more. I underwent open heart and four procedures while they were in there on June 8th.

I am watching the Great Courses series on the Black Death of the Middle Ages. I’m amazed at the parallels between the disease and COVID 19 it’s presentations and the varied reactions of the people during that time. From quarantine to hedonism or religion it reminds me of where we are now.

Update on “best laid plans”. Saw cardiologist today. My heart is back in normal rhythm and he feels a beta blocker is all I’ll need, no blood thinners (yea). So I’m back to my social isolation which suits me just fine.

So because we have no leadership or protection from our Government and because I live out away from crowds anyway I decided in Feb to self isolate. It was going great until this morning when I woke to a pounding heart, my Apple Watch giving me a warning and a achy right arm. Long story short, ER and meds I have Afib and RVR and blood thinners and some other med and an appointment with the heart doc. Best Laid Plans.....

Watching a 1967 concert of Tom Lehrer on PBS. So talented and ahead of his time! Enjoying every second of it. Sad that not much has changed. My favorite is the Vatican Rag.

Remy is almost 2 so his hair is almost completely grown out and filled in. Having a chihuahua is an adventure no dog owner should miss. I am enjoying the challenge!
