@Zolah In brief...
Starting a new group of players that are coming from a Monty Haul style of game where what they wrote on their sheet is what they have. Explained my way which was different and they agreed to it. Started them on T1 Village of Homlet. They enter town and one of their first stops is the druid. They decide to try and kill him thinking they could take him and his bear. It was the first time they ever experienced a TPK. Loved it :)
@Thelgor what Is a month haul style? I'm from Sweden so I guess some terms ain't used over here. How did they take the tpk? Some folks really can't stand that their chars dies whole others takes it as a story element they can use ^^
@Zolah Monty Haul was the host of the prize giveaway show Lets Make A Deal. The term describes a style of play where the GM is unreasonably generous in awarding treasure, XP, and/or other rewards.
They did not take it well :) A lot of WTFs and "our old GM didn't do that". :) I gave them warnings during play...they just ignored them :) It was not a story element moment :)
Still brings a smile to my face even today.
