The measures they're implementing represent a significant shift in what UK are doing. Also a much more transparent aporoach with stuff being said in the open, to the nation, not briefed to some toady journo. Thank fuck. They're actually being quite grilled by even the Johnson supporting press.
@AirRation I'm over 50... Mind you, I'm quite happy to stay in and if neccesary could go north to a house where I could successfully isolate for about 3 months I expect... As long as its over the summer, I could do it over winter if I had to but too many winters on the Pennines have made me averse...

The age of avoiding all but essential contact should be lowered to 50, I think b/c everyone over 50 has increased chance of mortality. Yes that would put holes in many sectors, but those holes will appear anyway with spread.
Whole household isolation of 14 days is better, but 14 days post symptoms would be better.
