Is buying a cheaper grill to save a couple of $100 from the cost of a Weber grill worth it?
I was looking at this Cuisinart for $300. I use a bunch of their stuff and they seem solid.
Or I pay $500+ and get a Weber...
Cuisinart products are good. Didn’t know they made grills. I’d try that one.
It has 4 burners! It might be worth it to try that one even if it doesn't last very long. It's less than half of average Weber gas grill prices.
Go for it!
@YouInMyEye @LnzyHou I didn't know Cuisinart made grills.
Give it a shot.

Cuisinart also makes Belgian waffle makers. Just got one on last Prime Day.
@YouInMyEye I regularly only cook for 5 or 6, the 2 burner is good. Usually just cooking a bit extra for 3. My previous grills had 3 burners, but I hardly ever used the 3rd. It's totally dependent on your crowd, though. @LnzyHou
@YouInMyEye no.
@YouInMyEye They all rust out and disintegrate, and can be rebuilt from parts. Unless you're aiming for professional grilling IMO they're functionally equivalent. The grill masters I learned from will go to the local park and use whatever's there.
I guess Amazon only sells GrillMaster parts.
@YouInMyEye Maybe try the manufacturer directly; that's worked for me. They have websites. I don't know anything about Amazon.
@YouInMyEye I've had a few gas grills. One Char-Broil, one from Costco, and the current Weber that I'm running with NG from the house supply. Functionally, they've been similar. I'd just suggest looking at whether replacement burners and flame deflectors are available and reasonably-priced. The Weber burners have lasted longer than the others, the enameled deflectors died after 5 years. Stainless steel flame deflectors are a plus. I also like uncoated cast iron grates. FWIW.
What do you think about wood pellet grills? Most of them are way out of my price range... but there are a few in the $550-$700 range.

That kinda sounds interesting. I wonder how easy it is to clean...

The last Pit Boss grill interests me. Watch the video. Btw, if this makes any sense, these have MAGA vibe to them, no? 🤣 Seriously though, it sounds fantastic!
@YouInMyEye I dunno, I don't take it MAGA so much as over the top sports culture marketing, if we're looking at the same video. I do like the concept of grilling and smoking in the same unit, though. The price seems reasonable, but I'd have to check on pellet costs/usage, I guess. Not sure about that part of it vs propane, NG, or charcoal. There have to be a pretty wide range of options, though. @QueenOfEverything
@QueenOfEverything My buddy has had a Traeger for several years and loves it, but I stumble over the cost! @YouInMyEye
@Ironworker229 @QueenOfEverything
Yes there were a bunch on Amazon.
Yes, that's what got me started on this. I finally have A DECK but left my nice gas grill in Texas when I moved.
I was invited to a bar-b-que before I left and the man had a Traeger grill. The steaks were delicious and none of the gas cooked taste. (I know, you're not supposed to taste the "gas" if the person knows how to grill) but it really tasted like meat grilled over an open fire.
His "little" grill was one of the $4k models. I
laughed and laughed!
@QueenOfEverything @Ironworker229
Ha ha ha ha 😑
@QueenOfEverything 😆 Yeah, right there with you! The Pit Boss pricing does look attractive, though. Full disclosure: After the Costco propane grill had issues, I was strictly vintage hand-me-down Weber charcoal grill for 5 or 6 years. Wife dragged me to Lowes for the Weber natural gas, and it's been just fine for about 7 years.
@YouInMyEye
@YouInMyEye We still have a NexGrill (whoever that is/was) that we bought on late-summer clearance for about $150 in 2008.
I don't know that Weber's sheet metal and gas burner fittings are that much better than some of the cheaper brands.
Not looking really ugly too soon counts and there might be something to Weber that makes food taste great.
@YouInMyEye honestly don’t know. I paid 15 dollars for mine and it works just fine. It’s a little mini Weber style but I don’t grill very often so can’t justify spending $$$ on one.
I grill quite often.... and I'm addicted to that good grill aroma and taste so I grill whatever I can cook on a grill
Someone told me my ooold Weber looks like shit and it's on its last stand.. 🤨
@YouInMyEye if you use it a lot then I’d go for the one that is going to last. We literally drag racks to the beach and have bone fires and that’s about as much grilling as we usually do so it’s not worth it. But I know what you mean about that grilled flavor. And it just smells good, too!
Your usage sounds a lot more fun though. 😁
@YouInMyEye
I’ve had both. Weber lasts longer.
