Why, oh why, do they feel the need to make a system like this so "sterile" and "pretty." Aquaponics with fish have been in use for generations around the world.

I'm more put off by the apparent necessity for eye protection when you approach the thing.

My guess was that the light they use for their tiny "garden" is high UV.
I'm not to be trusted with plants, and fish seem on the dodgy side as well. Cats I can manage.
