Stupid Microsoft Word tricks ...
I'm editing my history book's final draft. Having not done one of these in decades, I followed obsolete standards, e.g. Ibid in italics. CMOS says no italics.
I've been going one-by-one to remove the italics, then remembered that Word's Replace command lets you search by font too!
This is what it looks like (in Word 2010).
I know there are lots of other tricks I'll have to resurrect, e.g. generating an index, down the road.
@danielbsmith Thank you. We're not quite at that point yet. The editor wanted me to reduce the word count by 10%-15%, which I'm doing now, then it goes out for external review. Once we have the final draft locked down, I'll index what's left. ๐
