Last night, I watched a classic Twilight Zone episode, "Midnight Sun." Earth's orbit has shifted; the planet is getting closer to the sun. Temperatures are hotter and hotter.
Serling depicted this week, back in 1961.

"Midnight Sun" aired on November 17, 1961. Today, meanwhile, here in the #SpaceCoast, the heat index right now at 5:30 PM EDT is 100°F (38°C) with 70% humidity.
That episode has been in my head all day.

I'm supposed to go swimming tomorrow morning at the Cocoa Beach lap pool. The forecast right now is for a heat index of 96°F (36°C) with 74% humidity. I may cut that one short, or cancel.
