Stephanopoulos asks again if he's had more lapses in the last six months. If he's frail. Biden keeps telling him it's not true. Says his doctor told him after the debate that he was exhausted.
"Have you had a full neurological and cognitive evaluation?"
Biden lists all the tests he's had.
"No one said I had to, I'm good."
(Biden's voice is a bit hoarse. Perhaps this is after the Madison rally.)
Stephanopoulos asks how he can convince people he will be capable for his second term. Biden lists yet again all his accomplishments, including international relations.
"Do you have the mental and physical capacity to do this for another four years?"
"I wouldn't be running if I didn't think I could."
Stephanopoulos says "you're falling further behind." Biden replies that polling isn't as reliable as it used to be, which Stephanopoulos acknowledges, but notes polls in battleground states. "I carried a lot of Democrats the last time I ran in 2020." Also recalls the so-called "red wave" in 2022 that never materialized.
@BillieBun It's repetitive, but I think Stephanopoulos is doing him a favor by leaning on him. So far, he hasn't fumbled once, no matter how many times he repeats the same question a different way.
