#Politics #Trump Personal observation about today's events in New York ... I've been reading the updates on the #CNN web site. For all the hype, most of this is all very routine. The only blip is the request to fine Trump for violating the gag order, since gag orders aren't needed for most trials.
Jury selection is going to take a while, maybe 1-2 weeks. The media may hyperventilate to keep the ratings up, but it's all quite normal. And a bit boring.
@WordsmithFL Agreed - I'm much more interested in whether Iran or Israel will escalate and start WW III.
@PoliticalEd Neither is going to escalate. Those in power on both sides are quite happy with the status quo. Escalation means general war which ends with both nations being wiped out. So they'll continue to nip at one another just to keep their power structure in place.
@PoliticalEd Lots of ways to "retaliate." They've been doing eye-for-an-eye going back to biblical times. Israel attacked an Iranian consulate in Syria; consulates technically are sovereign territory, so technically Israel attacked Iran. Iran responded with a feeble attack on Israeli territory that they knew would be thwarted.
The Iranian mullahs enjoy being fat and lazy, having others fight their wars. They won't escalate.

@WordsmithFL Israel sure seems hell-bent on "retaliation", which will likely cause Iran to "retaliate" again, and so on. I sure hope you're right!
