We all know that Zombie Twitter is infested with bot accounts soliciting porn and prostitution.
But I suspect there's a second scam that Elon is running to monitor critics' behavior.
Once in a while, I get likes or follows by dead accounts that were created years ago -- like 2008, 2013, etc. -- that haven't been used in many years.
I think Elon is finding these dead accounts and is using algorithms to either generate false traffic, or track critics, or both.
Just my suspicion.
@WordsmithFL I can't rule your scenario out, but I think he would be more subtle. He can track what you post without the extra steps which leave traces you can see. Far likelier that the dead accounts are being used by other bad actors. Then again, he does stupid things all of the time, so who knows.
@00pi It seems to me that "bad actors" wouldn't have wholesale access to the last passwords used by dormant accounts, while employees at Zombie Twitter would. That's why I think it's more likely to be Elon.
@WordsmithFL Again, what does Elon have to gain by following you with these accounts? He can give an engineer a list and have all dissidents' posts monitored. You wouldn't even know it.
If he wanted you to know you were being watched, he could do something which isn't indistinguishable from bot activity.
Twitter employees are less likely to be following under dead accounts than bot nets are creating the accounts in the first place, or the original owner had an easy password.

If you ever see my deactivated account surface, let me know. My name will never again be used to support that toxic dump ☠️☠️☠️
