I listen to The Stephanie Miller Show,a progressive radio/Internet talk show that's been around in one form or another for decades. Stephie is a political comedy legend; woman comics sometimes guest, e.g. Paula Poundstone, Lily Tomlin, even Carol Burnett.
They often discuss why there isn't conservative political comedy. They don't seem to have the answer either.
@MLClark Re your Jon Stewart close encounter ... Sorry he treated you that way, but I've seen that before. They're working an audience for a "type" which you didn't fit. You were too young to know that. It wasn't your fault.
When I did launch commentary, I answered every question, no matter how offbeat. Some of my colleagues avoided Q&A because, frankly, they hadn't done their homework.
You know the adage about not wanting to meet your heroes ... 🙄
