Got derailed by a work task last night, so the butter is *now* softening for a galette this morning after class.
Fingers crossed! I think I chose a pretty easy recipe, but transport to my friend across town will be tricky. Her parents are joining us to try it, so... hope it's good! π€
And I'm *almost* caught up on key tasks. Can't wait to move on to the next set on Monday.
For those of you marking Lent next week, what are you giving up this year? I'm planning on a little withdrawal myself.

It's tough, but I'm giving up watching Fox News.

Having been raised Catholic, I don't recall ever taking this seriously. I mean, we're already giving up meat on Fridays, what else do you want?!
I've had friends break their addictions to social media and lessen their smoking/drinking on Lent, so there's definitely some good that can come of the excuse to abstain.
π That said, giving up Fox News in Florida sounds tricky. Are you sure it's not mandated viewing by your governor yet?
@MLClark Given his recent creation of his own personal police force, I'm sure it's not far off.
People are entitled to their opinions, but I think they cross the line when they put bumper stickers on their car that read, e.g. "F*CK BIDEN" (no asterisk) and "IMPEACH JOE AND THE HO" (calling Harris a whore). That's despicable and sets a bad example for children.

Class now, but Douglas Adams has our back on this one:
βMany were increasingly of the opinion that theyβd all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place. And some said that even the trees had been a bad move, and that no one should ever have left the oceans.β
