On that day, I sat, leaning forward, and over & over shouted “Shoot them! For fuck’s sake shoot them!!!”
And I’d have had no problem with traitorous corpses on the steps, in the halls.
This is why I should never be in charge of anything.
@Anouk I watched it live on the living room TV. My Trumpy wife left the room, claiming it was giving her a headache. The truth hurts.
@Anouk As for shooting, having been in law enforcement I was astonished by the discipline of the USCP. It would have been very easy for one of them to lose their cool and open fire. Not one of them did.
I suspect that, if USCP had opened fire, the militia crazies in the crowd would have started shooting and then we would have had a mass casualty event. One can only imagine how history would have turned out.

I think a majority of the maga idiots would’ve run for their lives after hearing gunshot, *if* they could hear it. Lots of trampling injuries.
The few maga idiots with arms would’ve been left to fight/shoot, maybe.
I imagine men smashing my home’s windows while yelling angrily about whatever. I’d shoot them.

@Anouk I agree that most of them are cowards, all talk, but the more extreme ones delude themselves into thinking they're somehow heroes saving the Union with their modern-day muskets. I wouldn't be surprised if at least 100 in that crowd were armed and ready for battle, the militias in particular.
I recall that one of the militias had staged guns in a hotel just outside DC, ready to roll in with the weapons if called to do so.
